Ho Tomi.

I went to the web site and downloaded the usersoundmodem.
But I can't get it to compile....
Here is what happens when I run the configure script :

checking for gtk-config... /usr/bin/gtk-config
checking for GTK - version >= 1.2.0... yes
checking for audiofile-config... /usr/bin/audiofile-config
checking for Audio File Library - version >= 0.1.0... yes
checking for openpty in -lutil... yes
checking for openpty... yes
checking for xml-config... /usr/bin/xml-config
checking for xmlNewDoc in -lxml... no
configure: error: Cannot link libxml
bash-2.03#

The xml stuff is installed.

        See http://www.baycom.org/~tom/ham/soundmodem/

I asked as I'm familiar with it and at some point the userland
soundmodem
had problems with CS4236 cards. I don't if that has changed however
(I
changed my soundcard some time ago).

That exact wording is very important info if you want someone to
help you.
Using cut-and-paste to report is preferable to avoid typos.

I have very limited experience with the kernel soundmodem driver so
I
don't think I'm able to help you here. I hope someone else is.
