I don't have the libc.cat file also not, and i do think thats not the
problem.

This is the problem i think, or you don't use a kernel with the z8530
driver, or you use the wrong version of sccinit.

What kernel do you use, and which z8530drv-utils ?
I run 2.0.29 and z8530drv-2.4.dl1 (which that scc.c and scc.h included in
the kernel source)
And i do not have any problems.

This says it all i think.
The device is not there (no kernel support) or it's not found, or a wrong
version.

Argh! All right, so how am I supposed to work with Linux when
everything's already been done?! Can't these people leave some
broken MSDOS like parts so there's problems left to solve!?....
