before i do something fatal, i want to ask this question.
i am getting errors generated after running kissattach, the same as
described in a 1998 post entitled re: kissattach, solved (for me) ,but new
questions.
my question is this:
the fantastic explanation indicates to put " alias tty-ldisc-5 mkiss " in a
file named /etc/conf.modules.
i cannot find that file on my system, but have found a file named
modules.conf that appears to be what i would modify. however, the first
thing in the file indicates that i should never modify this file, and given
my extremely limited experience i am inclined to not do so.
have the kernels changed since 1998 and the file name that needs the alias
changed as well?
if so, please provide the file i need to change.
am i looking at the correct alias statement to make mkiss work?
thanks.
