soundmodem 0.7 and linux 2.6.2 - problems when killing/restarting soundmodem

If I startsoundmodem once, all is well, if I kill and restart it.. things get ugly.. I get an oops.

Someone mentioned a patch to the register_netdev routine I believe, but I never heard anymore about it..

Before I start digging into the code, has someone already fixed this?
