suse ships kernel 2.4.x with backports from the 2.6.x'er devellopment
tree. in 2.6.x, the value HZ has changed.
thus you think you have a 2.4.x kernel, but have to deal with problems
which only kernel 2.6.x ax25 users have (hardly know any ;)
that's why you find no dokumentation in the net (and even if, you may
not read them, because you think you have a 2.4.x and do not need the
parameters described in a 2.6.x section).
suse missed to backport every affekted driver (there are many).
esp. the ax25-drivers (mkiss, 6pack) are still as they have been for
a very long time.
because the timers are wrong, you either need to patch your drivers,
or you have to adjust -where it's possible- via /proc.
concerning the parameters, there were some discussions in the bbs (LINUX).
and in doubt, ask the suse support ;)
