Hi everyone,
I have installed RedHat 7.3 and wanted to set it up for packet.
I have recompiled the kernel to include AX25 / ROSE etc as well as kernel
support for the baycom and soundcard modems. It all still boots up OK.
I have two problems.
First the kernel now doesn't seem to be able to find some of the libraries
it needs (eg for the ext3 filesystem) - I compiled the new kernel using the
following commands
make menuconfig
make dep
make clean
make bzImage
cp /usr/src/.../boot/bzImage /boot
make modules
make modules_install
do I have to specify a different initrd in grub as I do with the kernel?
I have attached a zip file containing dmesg, messages and .config (kernel)
for anyone who wants to assist me.
Secondly, I have had a look though the AX25 howto at
http://www.linux.org/docs/ldp/howto/AX25-HOWTO/index.html and had a look
though all my install disks for the AX25 files. I have 3 install disks, 2
program source disks and a kernel source disk. The AX25 files is on none of
them.
I got the ax25 ackages from sourceforge. The libs tar.gz file uncompressed,
compiled and installed OK. I uncompressed the tools package but could not
get it to compile. A screendump s in the attached zip in a file called
errors.
Any help with these problems would be appreciated.
Michael
