No, of course not, that's precisely not what I'm suggesting.
Being able to call one AX.25 device '2m', another 'HF' and another
'Satellite' though loses us the ability to answer the question 'Which
are our AX.25 devices?'. Where previously we knew that they were 'ax*'.
