AF_AX25 ?

    Destination:
    Installing xfbb with one kissed TNC port and one telnet port onto
     Slackware v8.0 (kernel 2.4.17), 80586x120, 64 Megabytes of Ram,
      filesystems ext2 of .85, 1.9, & 30 Gigabytes,
      standard serial(2) & parallel(1) ports.
     FBB does not support kissed TNC so kernel 'ax25' must also
      be configured.
     PORT.SYS(port.sys) must be configured before 'fbb' setup
      program can be sucessfully run.
     AF_AX25 must be configured before PORT.SYS can be configured.

    This thread is about installing/configuring AF_AX25.

    I've 'installpkg'
    ax25-apps-0.0.5-i386-1.tgz
    ax25-tools-0.0.8-i386-1.tgz
    libax25-0.0.9-i386-1.tgz

     Do I need to
    # cd /usr/src/?
    # ./configure --exec_prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc --localstatedir=/var
     # make
     # make install
    ?

    Should I remove the old
    rm -r /usr/src/ac25-apps-0.0.4
    rm -r /usr/src/ax25-tools-0.0.6
    rm -r /usr/src/libax25-0.0.7
    ?

     Do I now move on to configuration:
