    I've seen this error as well, when trying to reboot or shutdown my system. I
    even tried kill all the ax25 related processes, but even then got the error.
    I'm wondering if the ax25 interfaces were controlled by sysVinit and upped
    like all other interfaces if it could close them properly. Might need some
    kind of additional scripts or something.

    Failed migrating from 2.2x to 2.4.x using ham stuff. Although I use 2.4.17
    on a few pc's with success, but non of them run ax25.

    Before telling much about it, let me ask if any of you met the
    "unregister_netdevice" problem with ax25. Nothing but ax25 gives me like:

    ha3pmf kernel: unregister_netdevice: waiting for ax8 to become free. Usage

    ha3pmf last message repeated 3 times

    etc.

    Comes eg. shutting down linux and nothing but the big red button helps.

    Weird, while this bug pops up frequently on linux-kernel, noone complained
    here on linux-hams yet.

    I'd happily supply further details for a taker.
