    We have seen this from time to time over the past few years but no one has
    ever found out the reason. It may appear suddenly, bug the system for a
    short time (sometimes minutes, sometimes days) and then go away.

    I'm not 100% sure but I seem to remember restarting the server that "makes
    you the operator" doesn't really help (it may help for a while). Also I
    think Hessu (op of Kuopio_FI) tried to debug this (too) by running
    conversd under gdb but to no avail.

    My guess is that it is an ill-behaving server or a loop in the network
    _somewhere_, not necessarily anything to do with the server that floods
    you with these messages.
