I got permission, for Debian only, to package SatTrack 3.1.6. Here's
a quote from Manfred Bester (it's in /usr/share/doc/sattrack/copyright
    on Debian systems):

    "Dear Mr. Moffatt:

Thank you very much for offering to create a Debian Package for SatTrack.
We herewith allow you to do so, provided that you will be using the
latest release Version 3.1.6 and that you include the unchanged
original source archive and that it remains clear that the software is
not free for commercial usage. SatTrack is a trademark of Bester Tracking
    Systems.

    Sincerely,
    Manfred Bester"

We distribute the original source as sattrack_3.1.6.orig.tar.gz,
plus the Debianization patch sattrack_3.1.6-N.diff.gz. The patch
includes the Debian build scripts, the Y2K fixes and some other
changes I have made to make it fit in better on Debian. (Like
keeping most of the TLEs in /var instead of /usr etc). I've
also updated the satellite lists and mode data.

The Y2K and other changes may theoretically breach the license
Manfred gave me. I think the intention was for it to be useful
on a Debian system though, which is what I've done. However, this
    permission is only for Debian...

OK, we can do that. Let's called it 'freetrack' or something.
We can rip, err borrow, the tracking engine from any of a number
of places (predict, mtrack, etc). Then I want a text mode interface
    like SatTrack's.

A couple of years ago I intended to write a text mode interface
for mtrack. Never did. I suppose this could be it.
