    According to the fetchmail manpage, an error code of 2 means...

     Q> An error was encountered when trying to open a socket to retrieve

    ...and I note that this is NOT an authorisation error (that's reported
    as error 3), a locking error (error 9), a DNS error (error 11), a case
    of bad permissions (error 6), or a syntax error in its arguments
    (error 5). I have to admit that I can't help any further than that.
