The Linux HAM-HOWTO is dead because I killed it. Old copies of it are still
around because the maintainers of those sites aren't adequately maintaining the
currency of the links/data on their sites.
The HAM-HOWTO was never a HOWTO, only ever a list of software packages .. the
HamSoft database is actively maintained, up to date and as probably the most
complete compilation of Linux amateur radio software on the net. It was my
intention, should there be demand, to have some equivalent to the HAM-HOWTO
automatically generated from the HamSoft database. To date there hasn't been
any obvious demand.

Feel free to update the AX25-HOWTO. It's a GPL'd document, respect its
conditions and do with it as you please. Despite an ongoing desire to update
it, and even a start at updating it, I clearly lack sufficient time and
motivation to complete the task. I'd twice asked for a volunteer to take it
over on this list, met with positive responses but that had produced nothing,
so I'm happy for you to take it on if you're willing to do it.

Terry
