Funny, I was able to build the AX25 support in a RH7.1 2.4.2 system
with no compile-time errors. This was using all the stuff that came
on the RH CDROM; no downloads. I can't say it works as I have not
tried to use the AX25 features yet, but the kernel itself works fine.
This is on a Dell Optiplex.
I have gotten lots of compiler errors from other non-kernel packages
I have tried to build, such as F6FBB. The errors are mostly of the
sort where a procedure definition does not match how it is used. It
seems the newer gcc enforces the C type rules more rigidly so you
can't declare a parameter as "void*" and then use it as a "char*".
I also dual-boot W2K and use lilo for this. I don't know why lilo
could not handle W98 as well as I think W98 and W2K use the same boot
mechanism. My typical LILO boot menu is set to give me 3 options,
W2K, my kernel, and the RH out-of-the-box kernel.
