Well, I'll have to say my experience here is a bit different. AX.25
configuration is not that difficult and there is plenty of help
available on this mailing list. Sure, the HOWTO is old but a lot
of things haven't changed _that_ much.

It has KISS mode right? Should be easy to get that running then.
I don't know the commands off the top of my head though.
Should be as simple as setting the TNC into KISS mode (usually "kiss on"
followed by a restart), edit /etc/ax25/axports to put in the port name
and baud rate, then use "kissattach /dev/ttyS1 ax0 <an_ip_address>",
where ax0 is the name you used in /etc/ax25/axports.
Do yourself a favour and install Debian too.
