Hi Peter.

I'm in full agreement with that...

All too true - I've never yet managed to get AX.25 working on Linux,
and found the AX25-HOWTO something I couldn't understand - and I'm not
only an experienced packet radioer (who ran my own BBS for several
years under MS-DOS), but also a computer professional as well!!!

I have to admit that I've not previously seen your offer of help on
this list, but as far as I'm concerned, if you can get AX.25 working
on my system by telling me what to do, I'll write a new HOWTO based on
your instructions.
In case you wish to take this offer up, my system is as follows:
1. Intel P60 processor with 16M of RAM.
800M hard drive on /dev/hda
6.3G hard drive on /dev/hde
2. I can reinstall Red Hat Linux on this system without problem.
Any of Red Hat 5.1, 5.2, 6.0, 6.1, 6.2 or 7.1 are available.
3. Network interface eth0 is configured as 192.168.252.44 with
the localnet DNS translating that to AX25.UFP.CX.
4. I have a PK232/MBX plugged into /dev/ttyS1 with my mouse
plugged into /dev/ttyS0.
5. I also have a BayCom USCC card which I can plug in. However,
this card may not work.
Your comments would be much appreciated.
Best wishes from Riley.
