Hello All,
With the risk of being jumped on again I'm going to ask another question
about Linpac.
I managed to install Linpac a few minutes after I asked my previous question
last week. It is amazing how the thought process produces an answer when a
problem is discussed. Even more so when the person spoken to has no
knowledge or interest in the subject.
I have found that Linpac misbehaves badly (crashes often) as I was warned
that it would when used with kernel version 2.4. Interestingly, I have never
suffered a crash when using Linkt or the bare ax25 utilities.
Anyway, when attempting to run Linpac's mail function I am presented with
this message:
"This channel is not free. Mail needs free channel for connecting BBS. Run
mail on some not connected channel" [sic]
This message is generated by the BBS (FBB) and makes no sense to the
sysop either.
If I run mail when I'm not connected then a mail window is displayed with a
menu underneath. However, none of the menu options function; help included.
Maybe I have misunderstood the purpose of the mail macro.
