I am trying to find out how to send an unproto frame (UI) through a linuxbox
with ax25 without actually connecting to it.
ie: station vk2aaa (a bbs) sends a mail beacon to station vk2zzz (the
linuxbox). Frame idents as to 'MAIL via vk2zzz'. The linuxbox will hear
(logged with listen) but will not relay (echo) the frame. Addressing it to
the native ssid of the intended exit port (-14 or whatever) or the linuxnode
ssid (-1) makes no difference. Have I been spoilt with X1J, ROSE, BPQ and
native TNCs in host mode?
Is this something yet to be addressed?
BTW. APRS beacons could be handled this way too!
