The TELNET protocol is actually pretty complex protocol. Node supports a
very minimal subset of the protocol and FBB supports even less...
I'm very reluctant to extend the TELNET handling of node as it is _not_
very simple at least if you want to do it well (and there is no excuse for
doing it otherwise... :)

This is true. Right now I can think of one situation where node behaviour
could be improved. I need to review the code and see whether it could
solve at least some problems.
