    This is probably a left over from the 2.1.42a utils changed to the later
    utils, which altered the default location. Programs which dont use the API's
    to process ports etc can get caught by this change.

    The easiest solution I've found is to use a symbolic link in /etc/ax25,
    like:
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 32 May 20 16:30 ax25ipd.conf ->
    /usr/local/etc/ax25/ax25ipd.conf
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 27 Apr 25 2000 axports ->
    /usr/local/etc/ax25/axports
