I am running Red Hat 7.1
I have re-compiled the kernel for ax25, and installed the necessary apps.tools and libax25.
I have installed soundmodem-0.4 and can succesfully connect to packet stations using "call"
Please note that I am NOT talking about the original soundmodem as described in AX25-HOW-TO, and there is
NO similarity between the two and comments about the original soundmodem will necessarily be irrelevant.
My axports has an entry named packet
in configuring soundmodem-0.4 I have named the port, "packet"
The command to connect to the packet station "vk5sr" using "call" is :-
    call packet vk5sr
    This works!

Now I have not been able to succesfully install either linpac ot linkt, and I am still waiting for a reply from the
author of LinKt about this problem, so I downloaded the latest version of TNOS and that istalled ok.
I have had some experience a few years ago with nos in DOS, and am capable of creating the autoexec.nos.

Now, can anyone figure out for me the "attach" command line that will hook into the soundmodem-0.4

Because, through queries in the packet network system, I have had replies that were obviously from hams that
had some nowledge of the original soundmodem, I REPEAT, we are talking about the SECOND generation
    soundmodem.

Does anyone know of an even half decent packet program for LINUX that will install into RedHat.
