SNMP with new kernels ?

Hi,
I've just upgraded from kernel 2.0.31 to 2.4.4. All the ax25 is working,
however MRTG has stopped. I've investigated using an snmp browser, and it
can see the ax interfaces, at admin status 'up', but reports zero count for
ifInOctets and ifOutOctets. It shows traffic as expected on the ethernet and
loopback interfaces so snmp itself seems o.k. I wonder if anyone else has
come across this, and if there's a fix ?
