    Thanks for reading this.

A local BPQ node sysop is having a play with Linux on a separate
computer. At present, the Linux PC has aa KISS TNC hanging off it
(which has been ripped off the node :-)

Because he now has an unused KISS port on the BPQ node, we were
wondering if we could make the KISS TNC redundant :-) and hook the
Linux PC up to the node directly, running KISS. Would this work? He
uses the MKISS driver.I guess he'd need a null modem RS232 lead.

Next question: is there a way to get TCP/IP frames through BPQ? If I
were to ping his Linux box, ARP fires off a bunch of enquiries, which, of
course, won't get noticed by his Linux machine. A virtual ax25 circuit
would have to be set up first, through the node, to the Linux machine,
    before IP would work. How?

With regards to the sound modem question on this list...when using the
user space soundmodem program, make sure that the kernel sound
drivers allow apps to share the device.
