Probably not :-)
I have the node-up and node-down scripts here more for ease of changing things
on-the-fly. (Still learning -- still experimenting!)
But I do call the node-down from the /etc/rc.0 script that gets invoked on any
normal shutdown. The only reason is to save the node list. (And the cron
approach is better.) When the power line gets whacked by lightning, the
shutdown script does nothing for you. Right now, the saved nodelist here is
over 10 days old.
Then again, how long does it take to build a new node list? Around here, most
nodes seem to broadcast their node lists about every 7 minutes. At that rate,
the list regenerates reasonably fast. Maybe an empty list to start with is
better than one that is old and stale.

On the side of the software box, in the
'System Requirements' section, it said
'Requires Windows 95 or better'.
So I installed Linux.
