Hi all,
Linux , like many technical things , is difficult to put to one
side. I'm happy with the advice given on my question about re-instating the
nodes list and that seems to be working.
I don't run a shutdown script here. Perhaps I should ?.
Instead I have tried
a shutdown alias in bashrc (for shut or reboot) where I semicolon delimited
two commands as below:-
alias sh1="nodesave /etc/ax25/nodelist ; shutdown -r +1"
A seperate alias exists for nodesave IE alias nodesave="nodesave
/etc/ax25/nodelist"
Alias nodesave works fine
Alias sh1 (part 1) throws up a syntax prompt , but then goes on to obey part
2 which is the reboot.
Am I missing something ? Or can anyone suggest why the syntax prompt is
issued when using alias sh1 but not when using the alias nodesave ?
I considered setting a cron file to save nodes regularly but decided not to
at this time as the nodes list hardly ever changes here from one years end
to the other.
