    Hi,

I've been playing with kernel 2.4.x for a while and experienced similar
behavior. I'am using a pa0hzp card and when activating beacon the kernel
crashed instantly but without an oops or warnings or entries in the logs. Just
keying the transmitter until the watchdog switched this off. Using beacon on
    non-scc ports works ok.
In my situation it seems to happen only when running certain X apps, eg.
XOsview, without I can transmit as many beacons as I want without problems.
