I cannot answer your question in respect to ax25/6pack and a 2.4 kernel, but i
can tell you my experiance with it.

I had a lot of trouble as well with 2.4 and ax25, my problem was self
inflichted, i did not read /usr/src/linux/Documentation/Changes deeply enought.

I was getting all sorts of oops'en as soon as ax25 was running, my problem was
partly caused by using the wrong "modutils" version.

I suggest you consult the Documantation directory and the linux-hams mail
archive for more advice.
