We run a Linux box using Red Hat Linux 6.2 here at the university with a
D700A. We have had no problems with it. The only thing is that the D700A
doesn't like to stay in KISS mode when powered down(or at least ours
doesn't) and so you have to run minicom to place it in KISS mode all the
time if you power off the radio.

Subject: Linux 7 AX.25 How To

Currently running a Kenwood TM-D700A from a Linux 7 box. It works fine with
the Minicom communications software. Would like to get it running AX.25 in
a networking environment. Our current AX.25 How To is version 1.5 dated
    10/97. We've also gotten a later German language version 1.6, dated 7/99.
Translated the German version with software with limited success. Where can
I get the latest English language version? Also is anyone aware of any
problems with running the TM-D700A in an AX.25 environment?
