    If my failing memory servers me correctly is not TNT a hostmode terminal
    communications program for linux.

    If you have your TNC in kiss mode, simply try 'call <ifc> <callsign>'
    <ifc> is the defined name in /etc/ax25/axports
    'call port1 xy0zz'
    Thats with just linux kernel support and not running any other programs at all.
