OK sorry I was a bit snappy this morning. 8-O

Unfortunately I still have the problem of no email at home so I tend to get
in here to work and report on the previous evening's fun.

Chris Mcnabb gave me the clue that there was a problem with the header files
so I started fooling around with them according to the error messages I
    posted B4.

I dropped a line to Craig outlining the following observations I made last
    night.

Looking at my RH 7.0 installation CD shows that the default package that is
installed when selecting "kernel-headers" is 2.4.0.

    Selecting "kernel-source" will install 2.2.16

This does not seem to my untrained eye to be a particularly sane environment
    in which to build applications.

I have always preferred to put my Amateur radio stuff in /usr/local for
several reasons but mainly because this is the unshared directory on my NFS.
    It works well for us.

I suspect my version of ttylinkd is a dud. I will check it 2nite and let
    you know 2morra.

    cheers for now
