No you see that wrong, i belive its, "configure" not ".configure"
Where did you obtain your archive, ? and just what are you doing.??
I have ax25-tools-0.0.6 obtained in rpm(src) format, after using rpm2targz i
found that it compiles in "exachtly" the same way as 0.0.5 did, right down to
the one compile warning, which has been there i think since 0.0.x came out.
ax25_call.c: In function `main':
ax25_call.c:98: warning: passing arg 1 of `ax25_aton_arglist' from incompatible pointer type
In ./ax25-tools-0.0.6/ do;
./configure --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc --localstatedir=/var
make
make install
and i can assure you all will be fine.
Read the INSTALL file its tells you what to do.
Of course i am prsuming you have compiled and installed libax25-0.0.x before
doing all of this.

Then i cant quite see what you are doing, in most message's i have seen from you
here on linux-hams and linux-newbie, you seem to find your own answer to all of
your questions, maybe a good lesson, read the INSTALL and README files before
sending mails.! that may help you more than we can and a lot quicker as well.
