Secire Telnet and FTP

    I have to maintain a linux machine remotely. I can do most things via
    telnet and ftp, but I do not want to use a plain text telnet or ftp across
    the
    internet. Is there a secure(encripted) telnet and ftp that can be
    installed. The Server side will be on a linux machine, but the client will
    be on linux or windows.
