I just moved our ax.25 server machine to a new motherboard and am now
having a couple of problems I didn't see before. I wonder if anyone
has any ideas?
The first problem relates to a pty pair that I'm using to link digi_ned
to the socket version of aprsd. I do a kissattach to /dev/ptyqe and
then another to /dev/ttyqe. The two programs start up normally and
seem to work OK.
However, I get a stream of messages to the console saying "ax1:
transmit timed out, driver problem?". I also get the same message for
ax2. ax1 is the master side of the pty. Another data point is that if
I "ifconfig ax1 down" and then bring it back up, the error messages
seem to stop. Any ideas what's causing this?
The second problem relates to the dmascc driver which is running an
Ottawa PI card. In ifconfig's output I'm seeing a lot of RX frame
errors -- about 1/3 of the total number of RX packets shown. What does
the "frame" error signify? Could it be a sign of either TXD or TXtail
being too short on one of the stations being heard, such that the flags
are being cut off? I didn't notice this error with the old
motherboard, but that may just be a coincidence.
Thanks for any insight on these issues.
73, and happy new year!
