Howdy All...
I'm currently using the kernel-based soundmodem for packet under
a 2.2.18 kernel, using a parallel port for PTT --- it runs
circles around my old hardware-based TNC, so needless to say,
I'm one happy camper...
I've been trying to get Thomas' new soundcard based soundmodem
to work and have run into a couple of problems ---
1) soundmodem seems to have problems setting the interface name
to sm0 (not a problem in the kernel-based modem) - it winds
up reverting to ax0
2) soundmodem also seems to have problems talking to /dev/parport1
This is likely something I'm doing wrong. I've used mknod to
create /dev/parport0 and /dev/parport1, loaded parport, parport_pc,
and lp, and then tried something like `cat food > /dev/parport1`,
which results in a 'device not found' error...
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks... //Brent (wy6s)
