I've been looking at it (for 2.4 at least) and don't see any
obvious problems. Module or otherwise.

See Tomi's message for an explanation. This is not a problem with the
driver, but with your configuration/usage.

Could you please send me your "un-patch" to have look at? I don't
have a Sparc handy, but will try on an Alpha in any case.
