    Howdy, Y'all:

    I've got about another hour before I need to leave for
    Thanksgiving dinner. I'll be responding to this wave of helpful
    responses, but will not be able to try them out until tomorrow.

    Thanks (again and again and again).

    I ran:
    #!/bin/sh
            ./configure --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc --localstatedir=/var
            make
            make install
    #

    Then, when I run your command line above:
    /usr/local/etc/ax25/axports
    is returned.
    I ran
    ./configure
    make
    make install
    and your 'strings' command returned the same response:
    /usr/local/etc/ax25/axports

    !?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

    It seems that no matter how I 'install' ax25-tools;
    kissattach is always look for 'axports' in the same place.

    But, now I know where that secret place is. :-)

    Thanks,
    Chuck
