    I for one do not advise running make install, if one makes a new kernel
    which will not boot then you could well be up the creek without a paddel,
    espescialy if you only have one entry in /etc/lilo.conf.

    Another thing is, you are wrong to presume make bzImage will create a
    bootable floppy. Unless you are forgetting to say, "you" need to then copy
    the image to disk after creating it.

    make bzdisk "might" however.

    That is all explained in my home page. If there are comments on how it is
    written, i am open to commentry.
