    Hi, Richard:

Thanks for the hints, but I didn't make it very far.
I have an uneasy feeling that I missing something.

    /usr/src/linux# grep KISS .config
    CONFIG_MKISS=y

     I
    #make bzdisk
    #reboot
     then logon as 'root'
    # man mkiss
    No manual entry for mkiss
    # man kissattach
    No manual entry for kissattach
    #find / -iname mkiss*
    /usr/src/linux-2.2.17/include/config/mkiss.h
    /usr/src/linux-2.2.17/drivers/net/hamradio/mkiss.c
    /usr/src/linux-2.2.17/drivers/net/hamradio/mkiss.h
    /usr/src/linux-2.2.17/drivers/net/hamradio/mkiss.o

I'm pretty sure that I downloaded the kernel from kernel.org.
Why is the kernel missing those man pages?
Is there some other source of information about configuring
AX.25 (other than man pages) ?

Pretty busy! I just want to connect a KISSed TNC to my xFBB
packet BBS application. I don't want a node or an IP address,
    just a serial port.
