There are several projects in the work but no one is the
"preferred" one I guess. KPSK by Luc, LX2GT has an integrated
logbook based on MySQL. I already suggested Luc to seperate
the logbook and to make the services available over DCOP,
or even to build a kpart that can be embedded by other programs.
