I think you are maybe mixing kernel drivers/protocol stacks and userland
utilities. The kernel stuff should be up to date in any recent
distribution. (Of course I don't know if "potato" is a recent
distribution... Why does Debian insist on using only the names that tell
nothing to anyone not using Debian? Or maybe it is obvious to all native
english speaking folks that "woody" is an updated "potato" or the
other way around... :)
