I would like to have a look at this (maybe even help if possible). What
forum is used for the development for the new AX.25 implementation? A CVS
    repository?

I've been using a number of the current tools (libax25, ax25-tools,
ax25-apps, z8530-utils2-3.0, etc.) on 2.4.x machines and haven't had any
problems (at least not related to them).
