Welcome to the linux-hams mailing list!

Please save this message for future reference. Thank you.

If you ever want to remove yourself from this mailing list, you can send mail to <terhi.victor@logonet.com> with the following command in the body of your email message:

    unsubscribe linux-hams owoks@dcsdk12.org

Here's the general information for the list you've subscribed to, in case you don't already have it:

[Last updated on: Sun Nov 22 2:34:58 1998] Linux-hams is a mailing list to discuss the Linux operating system in relation to it's uses with Amateur Radio. Anyone with an interest in both subjects is encouraged to subscribe.

Basic Linux questions are not in the scope of this list. If you have a question about Linux that doesn't directly pertain to Amateur Radio, you mail wish to join the linux-newbie mailing list. You can do this by sending a message to syrwjrsi.eifv@mail.dy.fi with a body of "subscribe linux-newbie".

The listowner is currently Bob Snyder, N2KGO, sxrovre.xzntta@onspeed.com However, please use the email address fgvitr.cptkjnbjum@globe.de to send in email concerning list maintenance, as this address should always point to the current listowner.

If you are subscribing an exploder list, please send the list owner (yxs.pmdwm@mailit.tunk.net) email saying that is what it is, and *PLEASE* make sure you have configured your mailer such the bounces messages get sent to you, not to me. Nothing is more frustrating than getting and trying to resolve a bounce message for a person who doesn't even appear to be on the list.

The address to send submissions to the list is nnfqgyht@mx.dy.fi If your mailer sends replies to linux-hams-owner or owner-linux-hams, it is broken, and you need to rewrite your To: header. Microsoft Mail and other PC Gateway mail systems are often guilty of this.

If mail to your address begins to bounce, you will likely be removed from the mailing list. If you stop receiving messages from the list for a prolonged period, you can send email to iqlm@poczta.elb.pl with the body of "which <your email address>", and it will tell you which mailing lists you are subscribed to. For your email address, you can either put in your address, or a subset of your email address, and it will look for everything that matches.

An archive of the list is available at <http://hes.iki.fi/archive/>, maintained by Heikki Hannikainen <ecz@shlgroup.com>.

General information using Linux with Amateur Radio is available in the Linux HAM HOWTO, available from <http://sunsite.unc.edu/mdw/HOWTO/HAM-HOWTO.html>, and the Linux AX25 HOWTO, available from <http://sunsite.unc.edu/mdw/HOWTO/AX25-HOWTO.html>. Both documents are maintained by Terry Dawson <vbvcloql.rvhjiqw@hakata01.bbiq.jp>.

    Enjoy the list.
