Hi,
I would like to thank everyone who responded to my question regarding a Baycom modem not running with Linux, all is working fine now. It turns out that a source code version of all the AX25 tools+libs was installed first on the system. Then a Slackware version was installed using installpkg on top of the previous one. This messed up the configurations. I had to remove the Slackware package and delete the other AX25 related files left over on the disk drive, then reinstall the Slackware version.
