    If I am reading this right, you made the device special file after kctt
    couldn't find it on initialization (and maybe gave up). If this is a
    test system you are free to kick around, maybe if you boot it to force
    kctt through initialization when it will now find its device special
    file might get it to register itself as the driver. For a device to
    exist, you need both the device special file and a driver to have
    registered to take charge of it.
