    and in reality the Z85(C)30 does not give you any hint when the last
    octet, the checksum and the closing flags left the shift register.
    At least I haven't found one. Just resetting RTS within the transmit
    interrupt after the last octet likely even chops off the last octet,
    not only CRC and closing flags (at that point the last octet just
    got transfered into the transmit shift register). There are modes
    that let the Z8530/Z85230/etc handle the handshake themselves, but
    those are unsuitable for most SCC cards. The MODEM latency is another
    issue, a well-designed MODEM should delay RTS itself *hint hint
    nudge nudge*. ;-)
