Incoming AX25 connect to FBB and forward problem??

Hello, I recently upgraded to RH 6.0 and kernel 2.2.9, things dont seem to
be working as they should just yet. I have two points. When a station issues an
ax.25 connect to my FBB system this used to respond with a quick connect, now
what I see on the trace is this kind of thing:-

2m: fm GB7MBB to G4VCT ctl I00^ pid=F0(Text) len 50 09:43:45
0000 [FBB-7.01a-AB1FHMRX$].GB7MBB TCP/IP BBS..GB7MBB >.
2m: fm G4VCT to GB7MBB ctl SABM+ 09:43:48
2m: fm GB7MBB to G4VCT ctl UA- 09:43:48
2m: fm GB7MBB to G4VCT ctl I00^ pid=F0(Text) len 50 09:43:48
0000 [FBB-7.01a-AB1FHMRX$].GB7MBB TCP/IP BBS..GB7MBB >.

2m: fm GB7MBB to G4VCT ctl UA- 09:43:51
2m: fm GB7MBB to G4VCT ctl I00^ pid=F0(Text) len 50 09:43:51
0000 [FBB-7.01a-AB1FHMRX$].GB7MBB TCP/IP BBS..GB7MBB >.

2m: fm GB7MBB to G4VCT ctl UA- 09:43:57
2m: fm GB7MBB to G4VCT ctl I00^ pid=F0(Text) len 50 09:43:57
0000 [FBB-7.01a-AB1FHMRX$].GB7MBB TCP/IP BBS..GB7MBB >.
2m: fm G4VCT to GB7MBB ctl SABM+ 09:44:02
2m: fm GB7MBB to G4VCT ctl UA- 09:44:02
2m: fm GB7MBB to G4VCT ctl I00^ pid=F0(Text) len 50 09:44:02

2m: fm G4VCT to GB7MBB ctl SABM+ 09:44:07
2m: fm GB7MBB to G4VCT ctl UA- 09:44:07

Next, when a user tries to do a compressed forward into FBB (using Winpack)
my FBB system returns:-

2m: fm GB7MBB to G4VCT ctl I63^ pid=F0(Text) len 67 09:39:25
0000 *** Protocol error: Message could not be uncompressed (CRC Error
0040 )..

I'm using Kernel 2.2.9 with RedHat 6.0, libax25-0.0.7, ax25-apps-0.0.4 and
ax25-tools-0.0.5. FBB is version V7.01a1 daemon.

Yes I know the answer may be to switch back to RH 4.2 and kernel 2.0.36 as I
had before but I would rather stick with it and see if it can be resolved.

Any pointers??

Thanks
Mike
