Depends on the drive type. IDE or SCSI or Parallel-Port? IDE was easy
- kernel versions 2.0.31 and up have IDE ATAPI floppy support to run the
Zip drives. With SCSI I believe it gets set up as a regular SCSI
device. Parallel port versions I have no idea, but I understand they do
work.
The IDE is the only one I am positive about - my Zip drive is an
internal IDE unit, and it has run fine under Slack 3.4 kernel 2.0.31,
2.0.34, and 2.0.36 and Debian 2.1 kernel 2.0.36.
