The server itself is independant of the ax25utils package. It is a just a
tcp daemon just like any other.

I suggest using Htpp (Hessu's tpp) which can be located at:

ftp.hes.iki.fi in the /pub/oh7lzb/convers directory. The two tar files
that you will need are:

tpp-convers-1.14.tar.gz
and
htpp-1.14-upd.tar.gz

Make sure that you unpack the tpp-convers-1.14.tar.gz file first, htpp-upd
will replace a few files, hence making tpp become htpp.

If you are using RedHat 5.1 or 5.2 there will be a few modifications that
you will need to make.

#1. In the make file, make sure that "CTYPE =" is left defined, but with no
arguments. This will be the top of the 3 CTYPE selections that are given to
you.

#2. In the readline directory, you will need to define "CC = gcc"

That should get it going....

There is also a new glibc/elf version, but I have had some problems with
it. Try it and see how it works for you. That file is plainly labled as:

htpp-convers-1.14-glibc-ELF.tar.gz
