There an ncurses 3.4 that comes with the standard redhat 5.1 distribution, do
an 'ls ncurses' on <cdrom-path>/RedHat/RPMS and you will see both sets of
ncurses libraries. The standard install only puts on the 4.x versions of
ncurses but they will happily run side by side. Just install the 3.x version
rpms in the normal way.
