Just want to share what it found (didn't read it on the mailing list yet).

I found it was needed to recompile the ax25-utils-2.1.42a if you want to
run ax25d with netrom on a recent 2.1.xx kernel.

I've been using an _old_ compiled version for a long time (but upgraded
everytime to the latest 2.1.xxx kernel), and noticed the netrom port
defined in /etc/ax25/ax25d.conf gave a "bind" error. Recompiling _fixed_
this.

Hope this may be usefull,

Argh! All right, so how am I supposed to work with Linux when
everything's already been done?! Can't these people leave some
broken MSDOS like parts so there's problems left to solve!?....
